Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Oak ("we", "us") collects when you visit this store, how we use it and the choices you have. Oak is operated by Hudson Hildebrand (sole trader) (ABN 27 824 225 479), an Australian business. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the privacy laws that apply to customers in the United States.

What we collect

  • Details you give us: your name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, and anything you write to us through a form or email.
  • Order details: what you buy, subscription choices and order history. Card payments are processed by Shopify and our payment providers; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed and cookies, collected by Shopify and the tools we use to run the site.

How we use it

  • To process and deliver orders and subscriptions, and to contact you about them.
  • To answer your questions and give support.
  • To send marketing emails or texts, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every message.
  • To keep the store secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the store, such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment processors, shipping carriers, email and analytics tools. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

Where it is stored

Shopify and our other providers may store and process your information outside Australia, including in the United States and Canada. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect it.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies; you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the store may stop working.

Text messaging

We collect your mobile number and SMS consent only to send the texts you signed up for. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. If you live in a US state with its own privacy law (for example California), you also have the rights that law gives you, including the right to know what we collect and to opt out of any sale or sharing for targeted advertising. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.

Children

This store is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
